When was the Warzone Season 5 release date? Both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone are constantly changing, and whether you’re a fan of the free-to-play battle royale, the many MW3 multiplayer modes, or all of the above, there’s something new to enjoy with the arrival of each new season. For Warzone Season 5, you best get ready to rumble in the squared circle.
Whether it’s in battle royale game Warzone, or Modern Warfare 3 in general, the CoD devs are always looking to go above and beyond with each new content drop. This can lead to some wild collabs – Season 4’s mech-filled Gundam crossover being a prime example. In Season 5, however, we get to embody a different type of combat machine in the form of some of WWE’s finest. To find out more about the new Warzone season, read on.
Warzone Season 5 release date
The Warzone Season 5 release date was Wednesday, July 24, 2024. The date was officially confirmed by the Call of Duty team in the Season 5 launch trailer. This was accompanied by a comprehensive intel drop for the new Warzone season that dishes out the deets on everything we’re in store for.
The date shouldn’t come as a surprise if you’ve been keeping an eye on your Battle Pass timer. As is tradition, there isn’t any downtime between passes, with each one rolling seamlessly into the next as we transition from season to season.
New Warzone season 5 weapons
The four new weapons in Warzone Season 5 are:
- Static-HV (Submachine Gun)
- STG (Assault Rifle)
- Torque 35 (Compound Bow)
- Spear (Melee)
We’re being treated to some incredibly unique weapons in the new Warzone season. Boasting an SMG that’s more like a mini LMG, a shiny new compound bow, and a spear (not the Rated R Superstar kind) that can be hurled at your enemies, your lobbies are about to get even wilder.
Chambered to 5.7x28mm, the Static-HV is already shaping up to pack a punch. However, with a high fire rate and a ridiculous 50-round base ammo capacity, we already foresee it being a popular pick-up in Warzone Season 5.
We’ve also got to highlight the spear once again because it’s got a couple of quirks. Firstly, the reticle will “account for various distances” according to the devs. Additionally, thrown spears can be yoinked from wherever they land, allowing you to chef up as many players as your spear-tossing heart desires.
Warzone Season 5 Superstore POI
Warzone OGs, it’s time to get gassed because Verdansk’s iconic Superstore POI is finally making its return. The above teaser advises us to “get out there and have a super day” – we most certainly will.
Having premiered as part of Warzone’s first map, Superstore was guaranteed bedlam every game. This hectic, loot-filled POI was arguably the hottest spot to drop in the game, making it a hotbed for sweats looking to drop in and measure their 1v1 capabilities. Though we don’t know how identical it will be to Verdansk’s, we can’t wait to drop into Urzikstan’s new branch.
New Warzone Season 5 WWE collab
Stand back! There’s a Hurricane coming through! Woops, wrong early 2000s masked wrestler. No, in Warzone Season 5 we’re going to finally get to get in the ring with WWE royalty Rey Mysterio, Rhey Ripley, and Cody Rhodes.
Mr. 619 himself shouldn’t require any introduction if you were even tangentially interested in wrestling back in the early 2000s. If you’ve been out of the loop for some time, then let us give you a quick primer on Ripley and Rhodes.
Rhea “Bloody” Ripley, known as ‘Mami’ by many – namely on-screen romance Dominik Mysterio (yep, that’s Rey’s kid) – is an absolute tour de force in the wrestling world. After successfully defending her Women’s World Title against “The Man” Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40, she succumbed to a shoulder injury a month later, leaving her with no choice but to relinquish her belt. Now back and fighting fit, it surely won’t be long before Ripley’s back in contention for the title.
Cody “The American Nightmare” Rhodes, meanwhile, is the son of the late, great Dusty Rhodes. He’s also the current Undisputed WWE Champion – a title he finally won from Roman “The Tribal Chief” Reigns at ‘Mania 40, bringing a fabulous long-running story arc to its conclusion. If you were watching WWE during the mid-2010s you may also remember him as Stardust, though we prefer not to talk about that era…
Ripley will be made available on the new Warzone season’s Battle Pass. Meanwhile, Mysterio and Rhodes will be available in the store as part of Operator Bundles.
