MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga –– Active cases of COVID-19 in the city of San Fernando jumped to 93 on Sunday, November 7, from 244 a week ago.
The city government recorded four new cases, 64 recoveries and two deaths. The victims were residents of the villages of Del Pilar and Juliana.
The four new cases of COVID-19 came from the village of Dolores, which has the most active cases at 21.
The village of San Jose has the second highest active case at nine, followed by Del Carmen at seven.
Officials in the capital attributed the downward trend in COVID-19 cases to continued vaccination of residents.
As of November 4, Thursday, 135,510 or 56% of the 242,102 target adult population had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while 182,362 had received the initial dose of the vaccines.
The city government also vaccinated several students and started registering to vaccinate minors 12 to 17 years old.
