It’s been a tough seven months for legendary hip-hop artist Scarface. In March, he revealed he had contracted covid-19. The virus severely damaged his kidneys and now the Geto Boys co-founder is in need of a kidney. And he took to social media for help, HipHopDX reported.
On October 7, Scarface, 49, tweeted: “I need a kidney all of you,” he wrote. “volunteers? B + blood group.
The tweet received a lot of responses, with an incredible number of them shedding light on the situation or trying to take advantage of it.

Others took it seriously and offered to help.
When he was first infected with the coronavirus, Scarface revealed the medical crisis he was going through in an interview with Willie D, member of the group Geto Boys.. “These whole three weeks have been a test, Will,” Scarface said at the time. “This is the craziest shit I have ever done and seen in my life. Like I got to the point where I felt like I was going to die, brother. I threw up so much it was like hot sauce. Like your gas and your shit in your stomach, your acids, it’s hot. I had no food in my stomach, man. It was just like bile, my brother. I couldn’t breathe, Will.

In April, Scarface suffered from kidney failure and was then put on dialysis. “This is my new lifeline,” he said, pointing to his dialysis port. “I have to change my whole diet. I have to do dialysis four times a week, three hours a day. It’s taking all my blood, cleaning it, and putting it back into my body. Before covid, I had never had kidney problems before.

“Covid first attacked my lungs, then it attacked my kidneys and knocked them out,” he told the outlet. “I fully recovered my lungs, but my kidneys never came back… I’m still a little weak. I don’t have much strength in my legs yet. I have not yet found the taste and smell. But I’m happy to be alive.
In June 2019, Scarface said he had retired from rap to focus on politics, including a run for Houston City Council, The fader reported.
